In 2009 I got my first DSLR and embarked on a journey. For a long time I didn't know exactly why I did what I did, yet somehow I kept doing it. I taught myself the technique by watching Youtube videos. But like with anything, the best way to learn is to just do it, a lot. So it turns out that's why I did it. Photography has opened up my world. It has allowed me to develop myself. It has increased my appreciation for art, and nowadays I deliberately expose myself to it. To get inspired, and to learn about telling a story. I'm not there yet, and maybe I never will be. Maybe the fact that I will always keep learning is what encourages me to keep doing it. But there is honesty in it, and truth. It is almost a meditative thing to be doing. Much like traveling, which I think is why that's still one of my favourite kinds of photography.
