Puglia region. Italy von Stefano Orazzini

Puglia (also known as Apulia) is one of the Italian regions where tourism has increased the most in recent years. Undoubtedly thanks to the splendid sea and wonderful beaches, but also to the traditions and history of its cities and its characteristic villages. Among the best places to visit that I have collected in my Apulian photographic collection are Ostuni, the white city, Alberobello with its famous trulli, and the wonderful villages of the Gargano such as Vieste and Peschici. The sea, the olive trees, and the white houses are a constant in the Apulian landscape. In my photographs, I tried to capture the high-key tones of this land, in particular the harmonies between white and light blue. I have also included some locations less frequented by tourism, but which I consider photographically truly interesting such as the city of Gravina in Puglia, with its Madonna della Stella aqueduct bridge dating back to 1600, and the splendid countryside landscapes of the Alta Murgia. A wonderful territory in spring, when the fields colored by different types of crops form a truly suggestive landscape patchwork.
