Marlies Odehnal is living and working as freelance artist in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. From 1996 to 2001 she worked in Berlin for business reasons.
In the late 80s she discovered her passion for painting anew. She was attending some courses for painting and drawing. From 1994 to 1996 she studied at the University for Fine Art in Frankfurt. In 2002 she was attenting the International Academy of Fine Art in Salzburg, Austria, with the Prof. Zhou Brothers/Chicago.
Her open-minded character towards modern techniques led her to Digital art. What especially fascinates her are the innumerable and practically inexhaustible possibilities which computer art is offering. Since discovering digital art Marlies Odehnal increasingly substitutes her wooden easel with the virtual painter’s pallet. She is also interested in creating images from people such as dramatic actions, modern dancing, urban art. She got also inspirations from her travelling around the world, The aesthetic effect, the expressive colours and the filigran structures are created to captivate the viewer. Marlies Odehnal uses following software for creating her prictures: Photoshop, Corel Painter, Apophysis Fractale, Strata Design 3 D, Acquis Sketch.
She has had many solo and group exhibitions in the past.
